Replacement Levy Community Information Forums

Wapato School District voters have two opportunities over the next couple weeks to learn more about the Educational Programs and Operations Replacement Levy proposal that will appear on the February 13, 2018 ballot.  The 4-year proposal is not a new tax.  It will simply renew and replace the current 4-year levy Wapato School District voters approved in February 2014.  The current levy is set to expire in December of this year.

State and Federal dollars do not fully fund the day-to-day operations of Wapato Public Schools. To fund the gap, the District relies on voter approved levy funding to support essential educational programs and activities for students.

In addition to essential educational programs, levy dollars also help pay for things like safety & security, transportation, extracurricular activities (athletics, music, etc), special education and more.

We want voters to be as informed as possible prior to filling out their ballots so we encourage those who have questions to join us for one of the forums.  Voters can also access more information about the levy proposal on the District’s website clicking on the “2018 Levy Election” graphic below.
